Ingredients

    4 cups tomatoes, peeled, pureed in blender or food processor
    1 onion, finely chopped
    2 jalapenos, finely chopped (skin and membranes removed, if desired to reduce heat)
    1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
    2 Tbsp lime juice
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 tsp salt
    1 Tbsp dried minced onion

Directions

Combine all ingredients in large pot, bring to boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until sauce reduces to desired consistency. Cool and store in refrigerator or freeze until needed. Recipe makes 3 cups picante sauce.
