Introduction

Wonderful taste, a bit healthier than original (replaced some oil with applesauce, included whole white wheat flour, cut chocolate chips down). Could probably sub some Splenda for sugar, and cut chocolate chips down further. Ingredients



    Shortening, .5 cup
    Granulated Sugar, 1 cup (remove)
    Brown Sugar, .875 cup, packed
    Egg, fresh, whole, raw, 4 large
    Applesauce, unsweetened, .5 cup
    Banana, fresh, 2 cup, mashed
    *Flour, white, 1 cup
    *whole wheat flour (white) King Arthur, 2 cup
    Baking Soda, 2 tsp
    Salt, .5 tsp
    *Nestle Mini Chocolate Chips, .75 cup

Directions

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs & applesauce, whip until light and fluffy. Mix dry ingredients separately. Alternate adding 1/3 of banana and dry ingredients until all in. Stir in mini chips. Pour into greased (or sprayed) 9x13 pan. Bake at 325 until toothpick comes out clean (40-60 min).
