Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    4 Tbs olive oil
    1 mid-sized onion, chopped
1 750g package of Pomi strained tomatoes
    1 package of Splenda
Sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
Handful of fresh basil leaves, chopped

Tips

Pomi is the only brand of tomato products I use. 100% from fresh Italian tomatoes. All natural. No fat. No sodium added. No artificial flavour. No preservatives. No water added. No citric acid. Packaging is BPA free and has a very long shelf life, and is recyclable.

Directions

1. Heat the olive oil in a larger pan. Add the finely diced onions and sauté until translucent, then add the strained tomatoes. Season with sea salt, freshly ground black pepper and a packet of Splenda to balance’ acidity of the
tomatoes.

2.Let it cook lightly for about 15 minutes and add more salt and pepper if necessary.

3. Just before serving, add a handful of roughly chopped basil.
