Introduction
Low Sodium dessert or good for breakfast. Low Sodium dessert or good for breakfast.Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
Milk, 1%, .5 cup
White Rice, long grain, cooked, 4 cup
Granulated Sugar, .25 cup
Butter, unsalted, 1 pat
Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp
Water 2 cups
Tips
My dad always like to mix in raisins in his pudding. You might try that if you want.
Directions
Make the rice first.
#1 Using a 2 quart casserole dish with lid, put rice, and water in dish. Stir. (I put my casserole dish on a plate in the micro as sometimes the water boils over a little. Saves cleanup after).
#2 Cover, and microwave on high power 5 minutes. Stir with fork (careful watch the steam!)
#3 Cover and put back in microwave and cook on medium this time for 15 minutes.
#4 Remove lid (careful again!) and fluff with fork.
#5 Mix in the milk and butter and sugar. Make sure you mix well. If you want a creamier rice, use pure milk instead of 1%. Take a taste and if you want it sweeter, add just a little more sugar.
#6 Sprinkle Cinnamon on top.
Serving Size: makes 4 one cup servings
