Introduction

Ingredients

    1 pound 85% lean ground beef
    ½ C. chopped onion
    1/2 small head cabbage (about 4 1/2" diameter), chopped
    2 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
    1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
    1 bouillon cube
    2/3 C. prepared white rice
    1/8 C. Vinegar
    1 Tbsp. Splenda Brown sugar Blend™
    2 tsp. sweet paprika
    1 tsp. caraway seeds
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    Salt - To taste
    Ground black pepper - To taste
    Water - Add to adjust thickness to taste

Tips

Spices may be adjusted or substituted to suit individual taste. The object of this recipe was to take my Cabbage Roll recipe and make an easy throw together casserole. This recipe could easily be done in your crock pot.


Directions

Directions:
1. In a large pot over medium-high heat cook ground beef and onion until browned.
2. Add cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, brown sugar, bouillon cube, sweet paprika, caraway seeds, salt and pepper and then bring to a boil.
3. Cover pot, reduce heat and simmer until cabbage is tender, approximately 30 minutes or so
4. Add rice, cook until rice heated through
5. Add water if desired to adjust thickness
