Introduction
Inspired by Your Home-based Mom, I used the last of a block of cream cheese in with the butter, oats, flaxseed and 72% dark chocolate wafers for a decadent and healthy banana cookie! Ingredients

¼ cup shortening
¼ cup full fat cream cheese, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
3 mashed ripe bananas
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cup old fashioned oats
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp ground flaxseed
2 cups dark chocolate wafers (couverture is best)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
In a bowl cream together the shortening, cheese and the sugars.
Beat in the bananas and vanilla.
Mix in flour, oats, baking soda, salt, spice and flaxseed.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheet and flatten slightly with wet fingers.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 34 cookies
