Ingredients

    2 sticks of margarine
    2 cups brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 1/3 cups brown flour
    1 tbs. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 cup of mixed nuts (optional)

Directions

Melt butter. While this is melting, cream brown sugar and eggs, then add the melted margarine. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into sugar mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour mixture into greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees.

    I made this recipe with my students and they just loved it! In fact we made it sans chocolate chips and nuts because of allergies and it still was a big hit! - 4/4/10
