Ingredients

1/2 cup margarine or butter - can sub apple sauce for a lower calorie
1/2 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
3 1/2 cups flour - i like to use whole wheat.
3 cups total cereal
3 cups Raisin bran or a bran flake cereal.
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup raisins if you do not use rasin Bran
Directions
Soften margarine and mix with apple sauce sugan and eggs
Add flour mixed with baking soda. mix well befor adding the cereal and dried cranberries.
use a wooden spoon to work in the cereal and dried fruit. Drop on to non stick sprayed cookie sheer with heaping table spoon size. makes around 38 3 " cookies.
Can add nuts but be sure to alter the calories accordingly.
bake at 350 for 10 min. Makes a very soft cookie.
After cooled can be packed in freezer bags placed in a container then in the freezer, and will keep for several months. Great for those mornings when you just don't have time to fix something - very filling and packed with energy. Also an inexpensive alternative to granola bars.
