Introduction
Yummy!!! Yummy!!!Number of Servings: 2
Ingredients
-
1 cup water, preferable bottle or filtered
8 whole raw or dry roasted (unsalted) almonds
1 medium banana
1/2 cup frozen raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries or mixed berries
1 T. flaxseed, ground (preferably fresh ground)
1 T. flaxseed oil (optional, but adds good fats)
1/2 t. Vanilla extract
4 drops SweetLeaf Stevia Clear stevia extract (can be found in health food stores or online at Vitacost.com) or to taste
Directions
Kids love this one!
All you do is throw all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Easy! Great for breakfast or as a snack in the afternoon--gives you a boost. If you have a vitamix, you don't have to grind the flaxseeds.
Stevia is a all natural sugar free sweetener that I discovered recently. I like this particular brand because it doesn't have a bitter aftertaste like some. Vitacost is the least expensive place I've found it. You could substitute the stevia with any sweetener that you desire, but it might affect the calorie count. For some reason the food and drug administration doesn't like it, so you usually have to look for it under suppliments rather than food in the health food stores.
