Introduction

Ingredients

    1 cup flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 tsp baking powder
    2/3 cup sugar
    2 tbs plus 1/4 cup cocoa
    1/2 cup milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 tbs butter
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1-1/2 cup boiling water

Directions

Sift together 3 times - flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and 2 tbs cocoa.
Combine milk, vanilla, and butter. Beat until smooth. Spread in 9-inch square baking dish.
Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle over batter. Pour 1-1/2 cups boiling water over entire cake.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
