Introduction
A beautiful, easy pie for chilly fall nights. They freeze nicely too. Put them together, wrap tightly and freeze. Will keep reasonably well for a couple of months. Ingredients
-
32 oz Ground beef, lean
1 cup, chopped Carrots, raw
2 cup diced Potato, raw
4 crust, single 9" Deep Dish Pie crust, frozen, ready-to-bake
8 oz mushrooms, white, raw (by VELEZBRENDA)
100 grams Rosemary
0.5 cup Italian Parsley (by DOTTIDEAS)
3 tbsp Sage - Fresh (by LMDWYER)
1 Tbsp Thyme, fresh
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 serving Green Onion (fresh-1 stalk) (by MORETHEATER)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Take the pie crusts out of the freezer to defrost. You want them soft. Cook the beef, add spices, cook and stir 3 minutes more. Add the vegetables and mix well (I put everything in a big bowl to mix.) Put half the mixture into a pie shell, take the other pie shell out of it's pan and use it to top the meat pie. Use a fork or knife to make holes or slits in the crust to vent the steam. Do the same for the other half of the mixture. Bake until crust is golden brown (appx 35 mins) then lay a piece of aluminum foil over the top of the pie to stop browning and cook another 10-15 mins. Allow to cool 15 minutes before serving.
Serving Size: Makes 2 9" deep dish pies. At my house (husband and three grown sons) it only makes 8 servings total. If your eaters like smaller servings it will provide more servings.
