Ingredients

    2 tablespoons (heaping) flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons baking cocoa
    2 cups skim milk
    2 egg yolks
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 baked 9-inch pie crust
    2 egg whites
    2 tablespoons sugar

Directions

Sift together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, and cocoa. Heat milk and egg yolks in saucepan until lukewarm. Stir in flour mixture. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Beat in vanilla. Pour into pie shell. Beat egg whites with 2 tablespoons sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over filling. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Yield: 8 Servings

    My husband liked it very much. I thought it was a little too sweet, but otherwise good. Two of my sons thought it tasted like coffee was an ingredient. We decided it was a dessert to have when we were entertaining other adults. - 7/23/10
