1 serving Makeson's stout 330ml
1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
700 gram(s) asda stewing steak
1 1tsp Olive Oil
1 serving Beef stock cube (Knorr) (by NOME__)
45 gram(s) buckwheat flour (by SHELLEYBART)
2 tsp mixed dry herb (by SHELLSTEWART)
1 dash Salt
5 dash Pepper, black
1 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
250 mL Water, tap
2 tbsp asda tomato puree (by ROSE-MARY)
30 gram(s) Tate & Lyle Caster Sugar (by LIZZY63)
200 grams Carrots, raw
250 grams Parsnips
Directions
Preheat oven 180/160 fan. Heat oil in large casserole dish, add chopped onions fry until lightly browned (5 minutes) stirring regularly, remove from heat.
Put flour (any plain flour) salt and herbs in a bowl and season with fresh ground pepper. Remove fat from steak and cut into 3cm cubes, coat meat in flour then tip into casserole dish with onions.
Add bay leaf, ale, stock, sugar and tomato puree. Stir well, bring to boil cover with lid. Carefully transfer to the heated oven cook for 90 minutes. After this time remove from oven and stir in sliced carrots and parsnips replace lid and return to the oven for another 45 minutes until all is soft.
