These wholesome cookies are another version of the ever popular oatmeal cookie. They're a little high in calories, but still a nice treat every once in a while. Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1/2 c. butter or margerine, softened
    1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. raw sugar (or white sugar)
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    3 c. rolled oats
    (1) 6 oz. bag craisins (dried cranberries)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter, applesauce, sugars, eggs, vanilla until combined. Add flour, soda & salt. Fold in oatmeal until combined and then fold in the cranberries. Drop by tablespoon onto cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes until tops are browned. Cool on rack.

Makes 36 cookies, 12 servings, 3 cookies per serving.

    YUMMMM got more 'satisfaction' dropping by teaspoon rather than tablespoon -made 72 cookies allowing 3 per serving at 222 cals for 3 cookies or only - 74 cals per cookie!
    Takes less time to cook as well so watch closely and adjust per your oven.
