Introduction

This is my crock pot version of Keema, a Pakistani recipe (it is in no way authentic just a close cousin).

This is pretty mild spice wise so if you like it spicy kick up the curry a little.

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1.5 pounds 93% Lean Ground Beef
    1 cup onion (raw), chopped
    2 cups chopped Tomatoes
    1 cup Peas, fresh
    1 cup chopped Potato
    1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
    1 tsp Ground tumeric
    1.5 tbsp Curry powder
    1/2 cup Beef Broth - Low Sodium
    3 clove Garlic
    1/4 cup Brown Rice, long grain
    Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

Set Crock Pot on high.

Add ground beef, cover with the onion, tomatoes, peas, , garlic, and potato.

Mix the spices with the broth and pour over the top.

Cook on high until meat is almost done (about an hour and a half but it depends on your crockpot) reduce to low and continue to cook for another hour.

Add rice and continue to cook until rice is done.

Serving Size: Makes 6 servings

    Incredible!
    I used a sirloin steak instead of the ground beef. Plenty of leftovers for lunch but it was even more delicious the next day. And I think this is a recipe to lends itself to tinkering to your personal taste. Thanks! - 5/9/20
