Ingredients

    1 tbsp Canola Oil
    2.50 cup, strips or slices Carrots, raw
    2 clove Garlic
    2 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms, fresh
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    2.50 lb Beef chuck
    0.25 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    2 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    4 cup Pacific Natural Foods Organic Beef Broth, 1 cup
    0.13 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour
    .13 cup Cornstarch
    0.5 cup hull-less barley, dry (uncooked) (by TECHCATZ)

Directions

Roll Beef chunks in flour and brown in olive oil. Place in crock pot with all other ingredients except barley, cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Cook on low for 8 hours. Add barley and cook for an additional 30 minutes until al dente. Mix remaining water and cornstarch together and add to soup. Turn temperature to high and cook for 15 minutes longer and serve.

Serving Size: Makes approximately 10 servings
