Ingredients

    4 links Sweet Italian sausage (Turkey works well)
    1 lb can diced tomatoes
    1 lb can crushed tomatoes
    1 small can tomato paste
    1 large onion (chunked)
    1/2 red pepper (chunked)
    1 pkg fresh sliced baby portabella's
    4 tbsp dried basil
    4 tsp chopped garlic or McCormicks garlic salt
    1/3 cup equal

Directions

Turkey sausage or chopped chicken breast can be substituted for pork sausage.
Brown the sausage, drain and set aside.
Pour all tomato products into skillet.
Add seasonings and sweetening, simmer.
Add sausage and vegetables.
Cook on medium for approximately 15 minutes. The key yo this recipe is to keep the seasonings crisp.
Serve over 1/2 cup of your favorite pasta. I use Linguini.
