It is best to use Gala apples as they are firm and will keep their shape. I tried this recipe using Granny Smith and it turned out like apple sauce

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    6 large Gala apples-peeled, cored, sliced or coarsly chopped
    1 cup Splenda
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp salt
    3 Tbs sugar free butterscoth pudding powder OR 3 Tbs Minute Tapioca beads
    2 Tbs lemon juice
    2 tsp vanilla
    1 cup boiling water

Directions

Mix sliced apples with Splenda, cinnamon, salt and pudding powder OR Tapioca beads until evenly coated. Put mixture in crockpot. Pour lemon juice and vanilla over the apples and THEN add the boiling water. Cook on high for about 90 minutes, longer if needed.
