16.0 oz Ground beef, lean
2.0 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions, diced
2.0 large (7-1/4" to 8-1/2" long) Carrots, diced or julienned
2.0 stalk, large (11"-12" long) Celery, diced or julienned
3.0 clove Garlic, minced
0.5 head, large (about 7" dia) Cabbage, chopped into 1" pieces
2.0 large Green bell Peppers, diced
1 - 28oz can Canned Tomatoes, diced or if whole, chopped or squished by hand
1 can Campbell''s beef broth, 25% less salt, prepared with equal amount water
1 - 5.5oz can tomato paste
1.0 tbsp unpacked Brown Sugar
2.0 tsp Paprika
1.0 tsp Oregano, ground
0.25 tsp Cinnamon, ground
0.13 tsp Allspice
1.0 whole Bay Leaf
0.5 tsp Salt
1.0 tsp Pepper, black, freshly ground
1.0 tbsp Canola Oil
4.0 cup Water
Directions
Heat a very large pot over medium heat, and add oil.
Add onions and salt, stir until soft.
Add garlic, celery and carrot, stir until soft.
Add cabbage, stir until slightly wilted, then add all the rest of the ingredients.
Bring to a simmer and cook until all the vegetables are soft.
