Ingredients

    1 tbsp Salt
    1 tbsp Molasses, blackstrap
1/3 cup Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil
    1/4 cup Honey
    1 ounce Yeast, bakers
    6.50 cup Whole Wheat Flour

Tips

Don't give up if your first attempt is ugly! Ugly bread is still yummy. It is difficult to get a perfect 100% whole what loaf but you can do it!

Directions

Place hot water, oil, honey, molasses and salt into the bowl of a heavy-duty mixer. Mix. Add 2 cups of the flour and mix, then add the yeast (2 Tbs - I use SAF). Mix. Slowly add flour, 1/4 cup at a time until the dough comes away from the sides of the bowl. It will still be sticky. You want to use the least amount of flour here, enough to make a good dough ball, but not so much that the loaf is brick-like. Mix until you can see some gluten formation - the dough is stretchy. Leave the dough in the bowl and let it rise until it has puffed. Does NOT need to double. Grease 2 large loaf pans. Give the dough one more mix to degas. Dump dough out onto a floured surface and shape into one big ball. Just use enough flour to be able to handle it. Or handle with wet hands, your choice. Divide and shape into 2 loaves and drop into pans. Allow to rise until nearly doubled - about 1 inch above the edge of the pan. Don't let them over-rise or they will collapse in the oven. Bake in preheated oven at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Turn out the bread on a rack to cool completely.
