Ingredients

    3 tsp Pepper, white
    4 clove Garlic
    2 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    4 pepper Serrano Peppers
    454 Beans, red kidney
    680 Beans, navy
    227 Chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
    8 tsp Baking Soda
    3 tbsp *McCormick ground cumin
    12 serving Bacon - Farmland Thick Sliced Bacon
    3 tsp Cayenne Pepper (Ground)
    6 cup 365 organic chicken broth low sodium

Tips

This will fill it to the brim -- but shouldn't overflow.
Let thoroughly cool and freeze in portion sizes to minimize waste.


Directions

1. Soak all beans in baking soda for 10 hours. Rinse well, then put into water again until ready to add to crock pot
2. Cook sausages in skillet, reserve grease. When cool, cut into thin slices
3. Make rounds from serranos; crush, then finely chop, garlic; roughly chop onions
4. Roughly chop 4 slices bacon, then lay bacon on bottom of slow cooker. Set on high
5. Cook remaining chopped bacon in large skillet.
6. Saute onions, garlic, & serranos in sausage grease
7. Add saute to crock pot, along with powdered spices.
8. Add chicken/vegetable stock & beans
9. Cook on low for 10-12 hours, or until beans are soft.

Serving Size: 8 servings
Need: chopping board, large skillet (pref. cast iron), crock pot (7½qt.)
