Ingredients
-
1 tsp Chinese 5 Spices
1 lb Pork Loin w/o bone
1 tbsp Salt
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
6 tsp Granulated Sugar
Tips
I always use pork loin...it's easier to slice, it's the most tender part of the pig and it just looks better on the plate! Having said that...any pork will do.
Directions
1. Select pork that is a big chunk and not a pork chop; Preferably, pork loin.
2. Cut the pork with the grain into long pieces, 2 inches x 2 inches cross-sectional and any length you like.
3. Marinade with the rest of the ingredients for at least half an hour or overnight.
4. Heat the oven to 350 and bake for an hour on a tray, cast iron pan or piece of aluminum foil. When done, the pork should be reddish, firm and dry but not burned. (Of course, you can also cook the pork on the grill).
