Ingredients

    6 large eggs (beaten)
    2 cups sugar
    1 can evaporated milk
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    Whole milk (about 1 c.)

Directions

Beat 6 eggs, add sugar, can of evaporated milk, vanilla extract. Pour mixture into ice cream freezer and use the whole milk to fill to the line (about a cup).

    I made this recipe in my ice cream maker. It turned out fabulous. I used 1% milk as I didn't have any whole milk on hand. Also the next time I make it, I will only use 1 cup of sugar as it was a bit too sweet. Still excellent consistency and even after a day in the freezer, still easy to spoon. - 2/14/09

    My mother used to make this same recipe when I was growing up.. wowee, that was about 50 years ago. I still have the old ice cream freezer. and it works. - 11/2/08
