Introduction

Ingredients

6 tbsp Smart Balance Olive Oil Spread
7 Lg Cortland Apples ( 2 1/2 lbs) cored, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 1/4c Plain Bread Crumbs
3/4 c light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 dashes ground cloves
Pinch Salt
1/3 c apple cider
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease bottom of 1 1/2" deep baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the apples and lemon juice.
In a small bowl, combine the dry ingredients
Scatter 3 tbsp of the bread crumb mixture on the bottom of the pan. Top with half of the apples. Drizzle the apple cider over the apples and then top with roughly half of the remaining crumb mixture. Dot top with butter. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are bubbling and the crumbs have browned.
Best served warm, with a scopp of ice ( or soy!) cream on top.
