Introduction

A delicious vegetarian side dish or a great topping for rice, steak or porkchops. A delicious vegetarian side dish or a great topping for rice, steak or porkchops.

Ingredients

    1/2 cup olive oil, fine-quality
    2 garlic cloves, peeled
    1 1/2 pounds fresh white mushrooms (you can also use a mixture of white and wild), sliced
    1/4 cup dry white wine (you can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth)
    Salt and pepper to taste
    2 tablespoons chopped italian parsley

Directions

1. Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Add garlic and saute for 3 minutes or until golden. Remove garlic and discard.

2. Add mushrooms and saute for about 5 minutes or until tender but still firm. Add the wine (or whatever broth of your choosing) and salt and pepper (to taste). Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute.

3. Remove from heat and stir in parsley. Serve hot or at room temperature.
