This didn't even make enough to feed my husband - the onions were still very raw, the "gravy" was like water and it didn't taste like anything. I had to go out and buy dinner for myself since there wasn't enough for two. - 1/12/09

Sounds like something may be wrong with your crockpot. I cant imagine cooking onions for 8 hours and them being raw? Very strange as far as the ammount it calls for a pound of meat thats usually enough for four people or two huge protions. I love to eat and this feeds myself and DH and lunch.

Made this yesterday, both my husband and I really liked it. Started it on high for an hour because of BEHAPPY0201's comment. Lowered temp. to low after an hour and the whole thing was done in 5 hours -including onions. I added some beef bouillon to thin the gravy some. Definitely making it again. - 9/30/13
