This soup is so hearty it is a meal all by itself This soup is so hearty it is a meal all by itself
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    4 cans great northern beans
    diced fresh tomatoes
    large celery stalk
    small onion
    cubed Ham
    crushed red pepper to taste
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    6 cups water
    tbsp ham soup base

Directions

Cube your Ham and add to a nice size soup pot, cover with water and add ham base. Chop onions, celery, and add to soup. Add diced fresh tomato, salt, pepper, crushed pepper. Cook on High until boiling, then turn down to simmer for 2 hours. Soup will thicken nicely and serve 12 people.

    I WOULD MAKE THIS RECIPE, INSTEAD OF HAM I WOULD USE A SMOKED TURKEY LEG OR WING, WAY LESS CALORIES,MORE MEAT AND TASTES LIKE HAM ONLY BETTER - 10/26/08
