Introduction
Sometimes you just have to use real BUTTER and this is one of them. You can make it with margerine but it tastes a bit different. Sometimes you just have to use real BUTTER and this is one of them. You can make it with margerine but it tastes a bit different.Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients

1 roasting chicken cut up into 8 pieces
2-3 large onions sliced as above
1/2 stick unsalted butter melted
1/4 tsp. salt, less if you like
1 cup water
1 tsp onion powder (opt) can be less
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Line roasting pan with onion slices.
Lay on chicken, as if onions were a rack.
Drizzel butter over all the chicken and onions.
Sprinkle with salt, and add the water.
If you like it very onion sprinkle on onion powder.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 mins.
Open foil and baste chicken with drippings.
Cover tight and roast 15 mins more with oven turned up to 375.
Remove foil, baste again and continue to roast at 375 until golden brown and onions are calapsed and carmelized.
Serve the onions over a baked potato, or just on the side.
