Number of Servings: 1

    * Pears, fresh, 1 pear, medium
    * Lemon Juice, from 1/2 fresh lemon
    * Water, tap, 1 fl oz
    * Star anise, 1 serving
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
    * 2 Cloves, whole,
    * Honey, 1 tbsp

1) Peel the pear and slice it. Add the juice of an half fresh lemon on it.
2) Put the pear in a pan with water, honey, cinnamon, star anise and 2 cloves.
3) Cook 10 minutes without covering and stirring.
4) Remove the 2 whole cloves before serving.

Note: Can be prepared in advance. Yet it's best served warm (but not hot).
Do not eat the cloves and the star anise. You can keep the star anise to decorate the plate.

    Altered this a tad...I used canned pears (yeah I'm lazy), then I added powdered cloves, cinnamon and star anise extract (a few drops), left out the honey (allergic) and these flavours together and my guests loved them as well. :) - 1/28/10

  • Very Good
    I tried this using using ECLECTICCHEF's alterations (since I was short of time, and didn't have the opportunity to be peeling pears), and it was pretty darn good. I did use the honey and lemon, though. Awesome recipe idea, thanks! - 7/16/14
