Introduction

I threw this together one day when in a rush and my family really loves the flavor so it's become a staple on cold winter nights! I threw this together one day when in a rush and my family really loves the flavor so it's become a staple on cold winter nights!

Ingredients

    * Ground beef, 600 grams
    * Canned Tomatoes, 2 cans
    * Salsa, 1 cup
    * *Old El Paso Taco Seasoning, 2 tsp
    * Tomato Paste, 0.5 cup
    * Salt, 1 dash
    * Beans, red kidney, 2 cup
    * Beef bouillon, 1 cube

Directions

Throw tomatoes, tomao paste, salsa, 2 or 3 cans of water, salt , seasoning and boullion cube into a large sauce pan and let it cook slowly all morning. About 20 minutes before serving add ground beef and beans. You're done!

If you find your chilli too acidic in spite of the long simmering, add a pinch of baking powder.

This is hearty as is but I like to serve this over rice or salad depending on what else I've eaten during the day.

This one dish meal is great too for letting each family member adapt to his own needs (adding cheddar cheese and sour cream for kids, for example. they even get a few nacho chips. adding plain non-fat yogurt for me - VERY good on top!)

This makes about 8 servings if you accompany it with rice (let me say, I have a very large appetite as does my husband and son!)

Hope you enjoy!
