I love Red River cereal. I usually make mine with an apple, cinnamon and brown sugar. This is a terrific alternative. Thanks! - 10/4/11

  • I usually use two bananas and about 15 cut-up prunes or dried apricots. This adds a few more calories, but I love that touch of sweetness. When I modify the recipe like this, I get about seven servings. - 11/10/11

  • Yummm!! Thanks. I like the addition of the banana..smells wonderful. I will add a bit more water next time and cook for 1 more minute.....I'm guessing my microwave varies from yours. Great idea making the big batch and having it ready. Thanks for the time and energy saving tip! - 2/8/11

  • I live in Texas and I cannot find this cereal locally. However, you can buy it online from the Smucker's store. I bought it from them recently. Had to buy 6 boxes, though. Also, available from But I think you have to buy 12 boxes. It's easy to spot, though, comes in a red box. - 10/27/09

  • My favourite morning cereal! I made it a bit larger: 1 1/3 cups cereal, 4 c. water, and my family like apples more than bananas; otherwise the same. I had never made it in the microwave before - thanks for the idea! - 1/5/09

Sounds good!! I know you have had this question asked several times but I was wondering who carries the red river cereal? The grocery stores, or is it something that would have to be purchased at a health food store (such as a GNC) ? - 1/5/09

Any grocery store should carry it. It comes in a red box. I've seen it at Publix in the States, and all the grocery stores in Canada.
