Introduction

Whole wheat waffles that can be frozen for a quick breakfast. Whole wheat waffles that can be frozen for a quick breakfast.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 tbsp baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 cup skim milk (or use half milk, half water)
    1/4 cup canola oil
    1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla (optional)

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients in one bowl. Lightly beat together wet ingredients in another. Add egg mixture to the dry mixture and stir until moistened. Pour batter onto a lightly oiled waffle ion and bake until done.

To freeze: Let them cool and then put 5-6 in each bag. To thaw, just pull them from the freeze and heat in microwave, toaster oven, or oven.
