Introduction

As a Mainer, I could not do without my blueberry pie! A wonderful way to get more fruit, this pie contains very little sugar! It is such an easy pie to make and a major crowd pleaser! Ingredients

    3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon of Granulated Sugar
    1/3 cup of Flour
    2 teaspoons of Lemon Zest
    1 tablespoon of Lemon Juice
    5 cups of Frozen, Unsweetened Blueberries
    2 ready-to-bake Pie Crusts
    1 tablespoon of Milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

In a large bowl, combine 3/4 of a cup of sugar, flour, lemon zest and juice. Stir to combine. Add blueberries. Combine to coat berries.

Take one pie crust and line pie dish. Pour filling into crust, filling evenly. Take second pie crust and cover. Seal the two crusts together by crimping the edge. Brush milk on top crust and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and cut vent slips in top of crust. Cover edge of crust with tin foil.

Bake for 50 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for another 20-30 until crust is golden brown.

Cool on a wire rack.


In a 12 inch pie dish makes 8 1.5 inch pieces
