This is the chocolate cake on the back of the Hersey's cocoa tin. This is the chocolate cake on the back of the Hersey's cocoa tin.
Number of Servings: 35


    2 cups granulated sugar
    1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
    3/4 cup Hersey's unsweetened cocoa powder
    1-1/2 tsp baking powder
    1-1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup 1% milk
    3 large eggs
    1/2 cup canola oil


In large bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, stirring well to combine. Add milk, eggs, oil and vanilla. Mix well with electric mixer on medium speed for two minutes. Add one cup boiling water. Stir to combine well. (Batter will be thin.) Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9" pan and bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Frost when cool with chocolate frosting.
