Introduction

This is how my Mom made stew. We loved it. My sister has high blood pressure so now we add no salt. Each person salts there own bowl. We serve it with fresh fruit in season and a steaming hot piece of homemade cornbread. This is how my Mom made stew. We loved it. My sister has high blood pressure so now we add no salt. Ingredients

    1 lb of lean beef (stew meat ) 2 CLOVES OF GARLIC 1onion 4 stalks of celary Carrots 8-10 Bay leaf 1 bay leaf (remember to remove) pepper 1tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Cut your meat in bite size pieces and remove the fat. Brown your meat in 1TBS of Olive Oil add fresh garlic cut up in really small peices. Cut and add Celary and Onion. Add small amount of water. Cook on simmer, but keep close watch on water level. Add pepper and bay leaf. You will need to add water several times. Cook until meat is real tender it may take up to 4 hours to tenderize some meat. Cut up carrots and put in to cook. When the carrots soften up a little cut up the potatoes and add. As soon as the potatoes can be pierced easily with a fork, remove from heat and serve. Serves 6-8 plus leftovers
Serving size is medium soup bowl.
