Introduction

This is a family favorite version of the famous American Chop Suey. I am sure others have similar variations, but I find this one to be the best mixture of meat, noodles and sauce. Ingredients

1lb of 93% lean group beef

8 oz of whole wheat elbows

3 cups of tomato soup, (I buy the larger can of Campbell's Tomato Soup, but you can use two small cans)

1.5 cups cheddar cheese soup (one can of Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup normal sized can)

1 Cup of Green bell pepper chopped

    1 Cup of onions chopped

Directions

Cook 1lb of 93% lean group beef in a skillet. (I like to burn a few of the pieces for additional flavor, trust me it works)

Boil water and add 8 oz of whole wheat elbows and cook for 8 minutes.

When ground beef is completely cooked add in 3 cups of tomato soup, (I buy the larger can of Campbell's Tomato Soup, but you can use two small cans) add in the cheddar cheese soup (one can of Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup normal sized can)

When pasta is cooked strain and add to the skillet mixture of ground beef and soups.

I made this and it was VERY tastie -- however there is a scarey amount of sodium for only one meal. - 5/13/09

Definitely way too high in sodium to even try! All due to the can soup...Will make it with low sodium diced tomatoes, lots of tomatoes. Otherwise sounds great! - 6/11/09
