Introduction

This was adapted from another split pea soup without proper calorie count. Ingredients

    2 cup split peas thoroughly rinsed and picked over
    6 cups of water
    1 cup of onion chopped
    1-2 garlic cloves minced
    1 cup of carrots sliced
    1 cup of celery sliced
    1/4 teaspoon each of the following:
    marjoram
    black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon of cumin
    1 teaspoon salt
    a dash of cayenne pepper or hot sauce
    OR a dash of liquid smoke after 3 hours of cooking

Directions

Rinse and pick over your peas thoroughly.
Cut up all of your fresh ingredients.
Toss them all together in the crock pot. Add your six cups of water and your spices. Give it a mix. Set on high heat for about 4-6 hours. More than likely, with a good working crock it should take about 4-5 hours.
