Introduction

You can do this on the stovetop or in a slowcooker. I prefer the slowcooker, as I don't have to pay attention to it! You can do this on the stovetop or in a slowcooker. I prefer the slowcooker, as I don't have to pay attention to it!

Ingredients

    1 1/3 c Steel cut oats
    2 1/2 c milk
    2 1/2 c water
    2/3 c craisins
    1/2 c almonds
    vanilla,
    splenda to taste

Directions

Throw everything but the Splenda into a slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours (until liquid is gone)
I know it's against the slowcooker rules, but I stir it a couple of times to keep it from burning to the bottom
-add splenda at the end to taste
Makes 5 approximately 1 cup servings

    Very Good
Convenient, tasty, a change from the usual daily oatmeal I eat for breakfast. I will be making this on a fairly regular basis. I was able to get 7-1 cup servings from your recipe as printed. Thanks for sharing! - 6/30/09
