Ingredients
-
.5 Cup Strawberries (frozen or fresh)
.25 Cup Raspberries (frozen or fresh)
.5 Cup Diet or Light Cranberry Juice
.5 Cup Romaine Lettuce
Directions
Cut strawberries into small pieces.
Tear lettuce into smaller pieces.
Add all ingredients into a blender.
Blend until smooth, or until the smoothie reaches desired consistency.
Serve and eat! This is to make one large smoothie. Recipe can be adjusted to make desired amount.
Either fresh or frozen berries can be used to adjust the temperature of the smoothie. Another idea is to use ice cubes made of the cranberry juice.
This smoothie looks kind of strange, but it tastes wonderful, kind of like a berry salad. The lettuce does not have a strong flavour, and with the strong flavours of the berries, it isn't immediately obvious that it's there.
And it adds nutrients.
Enjoy!
