Introduction

Absolutely best recipe for mock Starbucks Frapp! And lower calories! I have tried others -too thin, added pectin for better texture (yuck!), etc. I make mine decaf. Ingredients

1/3 cup double strength coffee, chilled
    1/2 cup milk, 1%
1 Tablespoon (rounded) chocolate Jell-O INSTANT pudding
    1 cup ice cubes

Directions

Make coffee ahead of time so that it can be chilled. Double strength coffee is twice the coffee grounds per cup of water you normally use. I use Starbucks coffee, so you may have to adjust to get the desired strength.

Put all ingredients EXCEPT ice in blender and mix for about 20-30 seconds. Add ice and mix until ice is chopped. If you like it more chocolatey, add another rounded tablespoon of pudding mix or a tablespoon of Hershey's syrup. Either way, add 50 more calories. Makes 1 tall size Frappuccino (12 oz.).

I do not do whipped cream, so that is not figured into the total nutrition information.

If you like the cream based Frapp, use vanilla instant pudding.

making some coffee icecubes to substitute for the regular cubes is helpful since they will not "water" it down. have not tried with the pudding mix yet but I will. I made one using almond milk, homemade syrup & ff cool whip. wasn't what I expected.trial n error right? hope this 1 is it! - 5/19/11

Can you use leftover regular coffee and mix in some instant coffee powder? - 6/19/09

I haven't done it, but it sounds possible. Regular coffee by itself just isn't strong enough. I usually have them add a shot of decaf espresso to cream base at Starbucks, because I can't do caffeine.
