Ingredients

    1/4 c. softened butter
    1/3 c. unsweetened apple sauce
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 T. honey
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    1 T. ground flax seed
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats
    1/2 c. wheat germ
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. dark chocolate chips

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350
2. Beat butter, apple sauce, sugar, and honey until creamy
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla
4. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, flax seed, and salt and mix well
5. Mix in oats and wheat germ
6. Gently stir in walnuts and chocolate chips until well blended
7. Drop by rounded tsp. onto a cookie sheet covered with baking paper
8. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown
9. Cool on a cooling rack


These cookies freeze very well and are delicious to eat straight from the freezer. I hope you enjoy!
