Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    Chicken Breast, no skin, 2 lbs
    Chicken Drumstick, 2 lbs
    cinnamon stick, 1 stick
    cloves, 4
    cardamon pods, 4
    Onions, raw, 2 cup, chopped
    Serrano Peppers, 2 , sliced
    *Canola Oil, 5 tbsp
    Ginger Root, 3 tsp , chopped
    Garlic, 3 tsp, chopped
    Turmeric, ground, 1/2 tsp
    Pepper, red or cayenne, 2 tsp (remove)
    Yogurt, plain, low fat, 1 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
    *Poppy seed, 3 tbsp, toasted
    C/ashew Nuts, dry roasted, 3 tbsp (remove)
    Coconut, toasted, 5tbsp
    Cilantro, raw, 1 tbsp chopped
    Salt, 2 tsp

Directions

Skin the drumstick and cut the breast into small pieces. Mariante the chicken in yogurt, turmeric, red pepper, ginger and garlic for atleast 2-8 hrs. Heat oil in a large pan, add onions and peppers and fry till they turn light brown. Add the marinated chicken and fry till the chicken turns brown. Grind the cashews, poppyseed and coconut with a little water and add to the chicken. Saute for a minute,add salt and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil,turn the heat to low , cover and cook for 20-30 minutes or until the gravy thickens. Sprinkle with cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti's
