Introduction

These tasty little crackers are full of flavor and are a great (and inexpensive) snack to bring to parties, meetings, etc. This version uses herbs from the pantry (not a dressing mix). Sometimes you can find the oyster crackers at discount stores like Dollar Tree. I always keep a bag on hand for party-going emergencies :) These tasty little crackers are full of flavor and are a great (and inexpensive) snack to bring to parties, meetings, etc. This version uses herbs from the pantry (not a dressing mix). Ingredients

    1 bag oyster crackers
3 tbsp extra light olive oil
    1 tbsp cultured buttermilk powder
    2 tsp garlic powder
    2 tsp onion powder
    2 tsp dried chives
    2 tsp dried parsley
    1/2 tsp dried dill weed
    1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black (or white) pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In large bowl, combine oyster crackers and olive oil to cover. Pour oil covered crackers evenly onto baking sheet with sides.

In small bowl, combine all other ingredients. Sprinkle 3/4 dry mixture evenly over crackers. Let sit for a minute or two. Using spatula or hands (hands are easier) toss crackers on cookie sheet to coat evenly. Then sprinkle remaining dry mixture over crackers.

Bake in 300 degree oven for 30 minutes or until desired brownness is reached. Once cooled, store in airtight container for freshness. Enjoy :)

Makes about 19 servings of 22 crackers per serving.
