Introduction

I use about 2 pounds of shredded cabbage (or shredded store-bought slaw mix) for this, but I'm not sure exactly how many cups that is. I used 10 cups for this recipe's nutritional info, because that's about right. Ingredients

    2 pounds shredded cabbage (or shredded store-bought slaw mix)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 cup white vinegar
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 cup water

Directions

Sprinkle the salt over the cabbage and set aside. Bring everything else to a boil , stirring occasionally, and pour the boiling liquid over the cabbage. Mix well and chill until serving time. Makes around 10 servings, depending on how big the servings are.
