Introduction

Ingredients

    SAUCE:
    1 cup catsup
    2 tbsp vinegar (cider)
    2 tbsp molasses
    1 tbsp mustard (yellow)
    1 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp cumin
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp tabasco or other hot sauce
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    1 dash salt
    (optional) 1 tsp liquid smoke

    BASE:
    3 chicken breasts (about 1-1.5 lbs)
    1 medium or large onion

Directions

1 - cut onion in half, and then into half-rings / half-circles about 1/4 inch thick. Line the bottom of the crock pot with the onions.
2 - trim chicken and place in crock pot.
3 - mix all sauce ingredients with whisk or fork and pour over chicken to cover completely.
4 - cook on low for 6 hours.
5 - check for doneness and desired viscosity of sauce. You may cook for an additional 1-2 hours under supervision.
6 - when chicken is tender and sauce is set, shred with 2 forks and mix for sauce distribution.
7 - serve ala carte or with skinny buns.
