Ingredients

Slice the 8 medium large potatoes
mince the 4 hard boiled eggs
mince the 80 oz. of herring. do not use the additional wine sauce
    mince the 8 medium apples
    mince the two pickels
    mince the 8 medium beets

Directions

Use no vineger, even though you've drained the herring, it still contains enough of the winesauce which consists partly of vinegar.
Use no salt - Ther is invariably enough salt in the fish and sauce.
Even though the finished mixture may seem fairly moist, add oil - it give the salad its smooth taste.
If you prefer, use fresh herring, six large , or even 8 would be the right amount. You will have to soad them overnight to get the salt out.
If you use the canned beets, use at least 12, they are very small. Allow a few hours for the flavors to mix. Stir frequently. Keep it out of your mouth so there will be some left
