Ingredients

    see above..


    * Shortening, .75 cup
    * Granulated Sugar, 1 cup
    * Egg, fresh, 1 extra large
    * *Molassas - cup, .25 cup
    * Flour, whole grain, 2 cup
    * Ginger, ground, 1 tbsp
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp
    * Baking Soda, 2 tsp
    * Salt, .5 tsp

Directions

beat egg into fat till creamed...
mix all wet items in well
dump flour and other dry items on top stir dry items gently them mix into the rest.

ball up into golfball sized pieces and roll in white sugar bake at 350 f for 7-9 minutes untill the tops split and craze like a dry mud flat and are still very soft.

    This is not the kind of recipe to use for ginerbread men (although they sound yummy and I'm going to try making them). For gingerbread men, houses, etc. you need a recipe that makes a stiff dough that you roll out with a rolling pin and cut with cookie cutters. - 12/14/09
