Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    Split Peas, 2 cup (remove)
    Soup, bouillon cubes and granules, low sodium, dry, 2 teaspoon (remove)
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Carrots, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Celery, raw, 1 cup, diced (remove)
    Ham, extra lean, (5% fat), 1 cup, diced (remove)
    Bay Leaf, 1 tbsp, crumbled (remove)
    Salt, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Pepper, black, 1 tsp (remove)
    Water, tap, 6 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)



Directions

Soak Peas in water for 2 hours. Meanwhile, chop onion, carrots and celery. In bottom of large soup pan, lightly saute them. Add 6 cups of water, bouillon cubes, bay leaf and 12 whole black peppercorns.. Simmer until peas are tender. Mash if you like, using an immersion blender, food processor or blender. Reheat , stir in ham and serve with garlic croutons. (Croutons not included in calorie count.,)
