Preparing shirataki
Pre-preparation direction for tofu shirataki noodles:

Place a colander in the sink. Cut package open with scissors, drain noodles in colander and refresh 1 minute under cold running water. Drain.

Bring 1 quart water to a boil in a 2-3 quart saucepan, add 1/2 tsp. salt and noddles.

Simmer 2 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water. Set aside until ready to use.

For drier noodles, toss in a lightly oiled, hot, nonstick pan for 1 minute before serving or combining with sauces.

wow thank you soo much. I had tried rinsing and boiling, putting in the microwave and they always had a funny consistency. i had given uo on them over 2 years ago because I just didn't like the texture. I tried them the way you suggested and OMG! Soooo Good, Thank you! - 8/14/10
