This is wonderful. I made this for Christmas the first few years we were married, now 30 years later I decided to try it again....just as yummy as I remember....I do tweak the glaze by adding 1/2 brown 1/2 white sugar and only 2 T of rum - 1/4/13

This was very good. It was my first Rum Cake ever. I think next time I'll make less glaze, there was just so much of it. I will make this again. - 12/5/12

Just looking at this makes me weak in the knees. I've made this cake with Bailey's Irish Cream, and it's fantastic, I'm sure it's equally good with rum. - 7/23/12

Cake mixes don't come in the size. Do you know how to adjust the recipe to account for the smaller cake mix amount? - 12/14/11

I know this comment is WAY late sorry. I use eyeballed it honestly. I don't think in this recipe being a little off will hurt anything.

My mom used to make this once and a while when I was growing up. It's absolutely incredible, although decidedly NOT low-cal. Still great for a special occassion, once in a while. - 1/7/11
